I am an associate lecturer in the Journalism Department at Sheffield Hallam University. I teach news writing, digital skills and supervise student dissertations.
I have also taught courses on the communication of science and medicine in the media to medical and science students. I have an interest in moral panics and the communication of risk and have lectured on both these topics. I have done guest lectures on a range of topics at Leeds Trinity University, De Montford University, Bournemouth University and Nottingham Trent University and taught a module on freelance journalism at the University of Derby.
Alongside my colleague Lily Canter, I have presented research at the Association for Journalism Education UK annual conference and the World Journalism Education Congress.
